Planning Your Financial Future

Starts Today.

I remember my dad watching the ticker on Nightly Business Report and looking at the stock quotes in the newspaper every day when I was a child. I was so interested in what he was doing, but I couldn’t understand what any of it meant.

In 2009, I lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where I worked in the hospitality industry and discovered a true passion for serving people. I moved back to Rocky Mount in the middle of the financial crisis and started working for an investment firm as a fund accountant – a month later, the stock market bottomed. The timing of it all rekindled my interest in the stock market and prompted me to read as much as I could to learn the industry. I realized how few people, no matter their background, receive any financial education. I made it my goal to help people make sense of investing.

I joined Stifel in 2021, after starting my career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in 2012. At Stifel, I am able to combine my passion for serving people with striving to add value to each of my clients’ financial lives. My primary focus is to identify and understand which goals are most important to my clients. I then determine the most appropriate strategies designed to help organize, build, preserve, and transfer wealth to pursue those goals.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also attained the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification identifies those individuals who have met the experience requirements of the CFP Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas: the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. CFP® certificants also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements.

Active in the community, I previously served as a board member for Meals on Wheels, and I now serve on the board of the Salvation Army of Rocky Mount. I am also a finance committee member and former vestry member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

I am a proud native of Rocky Mount. My family has been in the community for more than 100 years, and I am honored to serve a diverse group of clients in my hometown and across the country. My family is the reason I work hard every day. My wife, Keller, and I have two sons. In our free time, we like to cheer on the Tar Heels, play golf, fish, and spend time at the beach.
